The Ceragon unbundled gateway for cell sites IP-50FX combines three vital functions in one product: a cell site router, a network switch, and an indoor radio unit (IDU).
In fact, the IP-50FX router leverages the disaggregation of software and hardware to create an ultra-scalable platform that integrates open hardware, best network operating system (NOS) software, and Ceragon’s Radio-Aware Open Networking (RAON) software.
The high switching capacity, flexibility, port density and C-type synchronization required by 5G make the Ceragon IP-50FX router a suitable device for managing all kinds of wireless and wired infrastructure.
The functionality of this router is based on RAON software, which efficiently centralizes the management of all connected radios: RAON informs the cell site router of any changes to the connected radios, enabling intelligent decisions such as traffic redirection for optimal use of the valuable radio resource.
