Calipsa is a cloud-based video analytics platform only and requires no additional hardware. Calipsa’s solution was created to make any third-party IP video surveillance system intelligent, whether with or without a VMS. Advanced video analytics features and advanced alarm filtering are added to any video surveillance site with a simple license.

The Calipsa solution, which began as a start-up in academia in the UK, was acquired by Motorola Solutions in 2021 and fully integrated into the Motorola Solutions ecosystem.

Calipsa, in fact, is now a technology segment of the camera brand Pelco, one of the two pillars of the Video Security & Access Control from Motorola Solutions. However, its cloud-based video analytics capabilities are “cloud agnostic,” applicable not only to Pelco brand cameras but to those of any other CCTV brand.

Calipsa’s solutions work on Amazon Web Services cloud servers located in Europe and are fully compliant from the perspective of GDPR privacy and data security regulations. Calipsa’s open APIs facilitate the work of system integrators.
